We are just over a week into our Kickstarter campaign, and things are going great. Lot’s of good interactions with backers and others that have taken interest with our board. If you have not seen it, yet, you can check out our Kickstarter project page here.

Here are a few other interesting tidbits from the last week:

ESC Minneapolis

This is a bit long, but worth the read! Cool stuff last week at ESC.

Matt Weber and I attended Embedded Systems Conference Minneapolis last week to give a talk on FPGAs in embedded systems. There were several Arduino-related sessions on the first day of the conference, and our XLR8 board received some nice exposure.

At the Awesome Arduino Show and Tell, hosted by Suzanne Defree, Matt joined a panel of Arduino-based project designers that also included Max Maxfield and Duane Benson. Matt had the chance to share some details about our design, highlight our forward-looking plans, and field some Q&A from the engineers and Arduino enthusiasts in attendance.

Later that afternoon, we participated in the Arduino DIY Meet-Up where a large group of us met to share our interest in Arduino development. This included individual DIY’ers, professional Makers, and a host of bright, talented people just getting started with learning about Arduino solutions. It was a great way to meet like-minded people and learn about some new and clever ideas.

Finally, during his talk “The Arduino for Rapid Prototyping: It’s Not Just A Toy”, Duane Benson of Screaming Circuits provided an impromptu and very welcome introduction to XLR8 as he discussed options for overcoming performance challenges with the standard Arduino Uno and similar boards. Duane definitely knows his way around an Arduino design, and the live mention was very appreciated!

Suzanne Defree wrote a great piece on the Arduino attention last Friday. Check it out here: Arduino’s perfect storm

Another Magnificent Mention

As I sipped coffee this morning, I was notified about another very nice post by Magnificent Max Maxfield of EETimes.com and EDN.com. Check it out here:

XLR8 FPGA-Accelerated Arduino Clone Kickstarter is Live

That’s it for now.  Thank you for your continued support.  Have a great Thursday!
